At approximately 4:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) and the Auto Theft Unit conducted a targeted enforcement operation focused on scooters and mopeds. The initiative was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns regarding the use of these vehicles on Shirley Street and the Roxbury neighborhood.
As a result of Operation Safe Scooter, officers towed ten scooters/mopeds for violations of motor vehicle laws.
The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.
