TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  Overnight Closures Starting May 11, 2026 – Storrow Drive Eastbound and Soldiers Field Road Eastbound

The Boston Police Department is advising motorists of overnight closures of Storrow Drive eastbound and Soldiers Field Road eastbound, from North Harvard Street to Mugar Way in Boston. Beginning Monday, May 11, closures will be in effect nightly, seven days a week, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, and are expected to continue through August. The closures are required to accommodate interim concrete ceiling repairs as part of the Storrow Drive tunnel maintenance project, managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).

The closure schedule will be adjusted as necessary to minimize impacts during major events, including concerts at Fenway Park and TD Garden, the FIFA World Cup, and MA250 celebrations.

Detour Route: Motorists are directed from North Harvard Street over the Anderson Bridge to Memorial Drive in Cambridge, then into Boston via the Longfellow Bridge.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and message boards will be in place throughout the work area. Drivers traveling through the area should reduce speed and proceed with caution. The work schedule is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
