At about 4:46 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of 1333 Boylston Street in Boston.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated he was inside of the aforementioned location using the ATM when an unknown male approached him and attempted to grab the withdrawn money from his hands. Following a brief struggle, the victim was pushed to the ground and the suspect fled with the victim’s cash.
A description of the suspect was broadcast via BPD Operations. Officers were directed to the Target store in the area where they located the suspect. Following a positive identification, the suspect was taken into custody. While searching the suspect, officers recovered stolen merchandise from Target as well as the stolen cash from the victim.
Officers arrested Alex Reis, 44-years-old, of Revere. Reis is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unarmed Robbery, Larceny under $1200, and Trespassing.
