On Thursday, April 2, 2026, Officers and Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested three men following a shooting that left one man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
At approximately 1:03 p.m. on April 2, 2026, officers assigned to District B-2 responded to the area of Dudley Street and Mount Pleasant Avenue for a report of shots fired. Prior to officers’ arrival, an off-duty Sergeant from District D-4 who was stopped at a red light at Dearborn Street and Dudley Street heard multiple gunshots and broadcast the incident.
Responding officers located a white Infiniti sedan on the Massachusetts Avenue Connector that was connected to the incident. Officers stopped the vehicle without incident and detained the occupants.
The driver, David Carrasquillo, 24, of Roxbury, was placed under arrest. Officers recovered a firearm from Carrasquillo’s waistband at the time of his arrest.
Investigators reviewing video surveillance footage observed Carrasquillo discharge a firearm in the direction of Zeigler Street. Three individuals on Zeigler Street were observed returning fire. Officers responding to the Zeigler Street area established a perimeter around 121 Zeigler Street after receiving information that suspects had entered the residence. After additional units from Special Operations were requested for the barricaded suspects, the SWAT Team and additional officers responded. Shortly after, three males and one female exited the residence.
Two of the males who exited the residence, David Ortiz, 19, of Boston, and Eliel Pena, 18, of Roxbury, were identified as individuals observed in surveillance footage firing in the direction of Carrasquillo. Both were placed under arrest.
During a protective sweep of the residence, officers observed in plain view a cartridge and two firearms. The residence was subsequently frozen pending the application of a search warrant. Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators recovered two firearms, additional magazines, ammunition, and firearm accessories. Investigators also recovered clothing consistent with that worn by the suspects prior to their surrender. Additional charges are pending.
One person sustained a gunshot wound to the upper left shoulder area and transported himself to an area hospital. The injury was described as non-life-threatening.
