On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Keondre Barrett, 25, of Dorchester, on firearm offenses and two outstanding warrants.
About 6:48 PM, officers were conducting an investigation in the area of Mascot Street. As officers were conducting their investigation, they observed a motor vehicle park on Mascot Street. The target of the investigation was seen exiting a building and entering the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
Officers followed the vehicle and observed it fail to stop at the marked stop sign at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Dumas Street. At that time, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
The front passenger was observed to be the target of their investigation, and he was requested to exit the vehicle. As officers began opening the door, the suspect, Barrett, immediately closed the door. Officers quickly opened the door again before the suspect could lock it.
Multiple attempts were made to remove the suspect from the vehicle, but he actively resisted officers’ order, and tensed his body. Officers were able to remove the suspect from the vehicle and placed him into handcuffs. As officers searched Barrett, they recovered a Glock 42 with ten rounds in the magazine.
Barrett was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following offenses:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Resist Arrest
The suspect’s warrants were issued out of Suffolk Superior Court for Unarmed Robbery and Boston Municipal Court for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
