Two Arrested and Firearm Recovered Following Early Morning Foot Pursuit in Roxbury

At about 1:52 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) conducted a subject stop in the area of 22 Wakullah Street that resulted in the recovery of a firearm and the arrest of two suspects.

While on patrol near Wakullah and Dale Streets, officers observed a male, later identified as 20-year-old Chajiani Villanueva, of Natick, MA, wearing dark clothing, a ski mask, and carrying a gray backpack. Upon noticing the officers, Villanueva adjusted his mask, scanned the area, and appeared poised to flee.

As officers attempted to conduct a voluntary encounter, Villanueva immediately fled on foot, running into the rear of 22 Wakullah Street. Officers pursued him as he entered the building wearing the backpack and exited moments later without it. Villanueva then attempted to gain entry to the rear of 24 Wakullah Street, where he was pursued and detained inside.

During the investigation, officers learned a bag may have been discarded inside. While securing the location, they encountered a 16-year-old juvenile male on the third floor, sweating heavily and breathing rapidly. Nearby, officers observed a gray backpack on the floor. Inside the bag, they recovered clothing and, concealed behind cardboard, a Glock 19 Gen 4 firearm with a magazine containing 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
