On Monday, August 11, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Nasiah Floyd, 28, of Dorchester, for firearm related charges.
About 10:13 PM, officers were on directed patrol in the area of Norfolk Street towards Elmhurst Street. A vehicle was seen in the opposite lane of travel to not have their front or back lights illuminated. An inquiry was conducted of the vehicle’s registration which revealed that it had been expired since April.
Officers conducted a U-turn to get behind the vehicle and were able to stop it in the area of 25 Peacevale Road. The operator was advised that the vehicle could not be driven on a public way as it had expired registration. The operator was requested to exit the vehicle in preparation for a tow truck to respond.
At this time, the operator rolled up his windows, and fled the traffic stop. The vehicle drove through a school parking lot, and park on Armandine Street. The operator exited the vehicle and immediately began to sprint towards Milton Avenue.
A foot pursuit ensued, and officers were able to secure the suspect into handcuffs. A motor vehicle inventory search was conducted, and a firearm was recovered from inside. The firearm was determined to be a Sig Sauer with seven rounds in the magazine.
Floyd was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License Second Offense
- Resisting Arrest
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Fail to Stop for Police
