On Monday, August 11, 2025, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested Adamo Da Silveira, 25, of Weymouth, for various firearm related offenses.
About 9:20 PM, a motor vehicle was seen traveling at a high rate of speed from Old Colony Avenue towards the Columbia Road Rotary. Officers observed the vehicle to be weaving in and out of traffic, and changing lanes at an unsafe speed.
Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle came to a stop in the area of Columbia Road and Day Boulevard, and officers quickly determined that the operator’s license was suspended. The passenger inside of the vehicle also did not have an active license, and both occupants were requested to exit.
A motor vehicle inventory search was conducted and a firearm was recovered from a backpack inside the vehicle. District C-6 Detectives responded to the scene and determined the firearm to be a Glock 17 with one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in a magazine that was capable of holding seventeen total rounds.
Da Silveira was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court for the following offenses:
– Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License
– Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
– Carrying a Firearm without a License
– Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
– Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number
