Traffic Stop in Roxbury Leads to the Recovery of a Firearm

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Allante Pires, 28, of Brockton, on multiple firearm charges.

About 2:42 AM, officers were on patrol in the area of Moreland Street and Warren Street when they observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers immediately activated their marked cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop at 14 Hazelwood Street.

Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. The operator was seen to have glossy eyes and slurred speech. A strong odor of alcohol was also emanating from the operator’s breath and person.

A request was made for the operator to provide his license and registration, but was only able to supply a license. After multiple requests, the operator checked the glove box, and an open bottle of alcohol was observed. A knife could also be seen on the waistband of the operator.

With the assistance of responding officers, an exit order was issued of the two occupants. Both the operator and front passenger refused to exit the vehicle. Officers were able to remove both occupants from the vehicle, and conducted a pat frisk. A firearm was located from inside the vehicle, and both suspects were immediately placed into handcuffs.

District B-2 Detectives arrived on scene and took possession of the evidence. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 19 with one round in the chamber and twenty-four rounds in a magazine that was capable of holding thirty-one rounds.

Pires was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

–          Unlawful Possession of Ammunition

–          Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm

–          Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol

–          Open Container

–          Speeding
