On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Diallo Coren, 43, of Boston, on various firearm and drug charges.
At about 4:45 PM, officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of Columbia Road and Arion Street. Officers had received a community complaint that a home in the area was selling narcotics. Surveillance was set up, and observations were made of two males walking on Columbia Road towards Bird Street, while counting U.S. currency.
The two individuals were seen meeting up with another two males who were sitting at a bus kiosk. Officers could see the two males sitting down, reach into a backpack, and hand the other males an unknown amount of money.
One of the males walked away from the group and towards Bird Street. The male was seen clenching his right hand and reapproached the group. Officers observed two individuals engage in what they believed to be a street level drug transaction.
A Drug Control Officer approached the group, and identified himself as a Boston Police Officer. The group was advised of the reason for the stop, and the officer could see one of the individuals holding a crack pipe and cupping his other hand. The officer was able to recover crack cocaine, and observed a second male to also be cupping his hands.
The officer was able to recover drugs from the second male, who now opened his fanny pack that was over his shoulder. The officer requested the suspect to stop moving his hands, and observed a black canister inside the bag. After further investigation, the officer recovered a Glock 27 with nine rounds in the magazine from inside the bag.
Coren was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
▪ Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
▪ Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
▪ Possession of Class B
▪ Possession of Class C
