Off Road Vehicle Enforcement in Downtown Crossing

At about 5:30 PM, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, officers assigned District A-1 (Downtown) and the Community Interaction Team conducted Off Road Vehicle Enforcement in Downtown Crossing. Officers were in the area of Washington Street and Franklin Street to address ongoing community complaints of mopeds failing to yield to pedestrians. This specific location is an excluded way to pedestrians only.

As a result of this traffic enforcement, officers stopped multiple off road vehicles which led to citations issued, scooters towed, and summonses issued for violation of auto laws.

The Boston Police Department continues traffic enforcement on the illegal use of unregistered and unlicensed operators to ensure public safety and compliance with city laws.
