Birthday Graffiti Leads to Two Arrests in Downtown Boston

On Thursday, June 5, 2025, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) arrested two individuals in connection with a vandalism incident in Boston’s downtown area. The suspects have been identified as a 17-year-old juvenile male and Jahkiya Wideman, 20, of Cambridge.

At approximately 11:40 PM, officers responded to a call reporting vandalism in progress near 103 Arch Street. According to the report, a group was actively spray-painting graffiti on a building wall.

An officer monitoring surveillance cameras observed the group outside St. Anthony’s Shrine and was able to identify the two individuals involved in the act of vandalism.

Officers located and stopped the group, separating the two suspected vandals from the rest. The suspects admitted they had been out celebrating Wideman’s birthday and decided to graffiti a wall. Further investigation revealed that the juvenile male had been using a paint pen marker. At the time of the report, the graffiti could not be removed.

The 17-year-old was arrested and charged as a delinquent for vandalizing property. He is scheduled to appear in Boston Juvenile Court.

Wideman was also arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of vandalizing property.
