Investigation Update: At about 5:06 PM , on Monday, May 19, 2025, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Cornelius Williams, 34, of Boston, in the area of 25 Staniford Street. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Boston Municipal Court for Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person 14 or Over, and Assault to Rape. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 10:53 PM, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to the area of Margaret Street in the North End, for a report of an indecent assault and battery. The victim was entering a residence when she was approached from behind by an unknown black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The unknown male committed an indecent assault and battery and then fled from the building on foot.
