At about 12:54 PM, on Friday, April 25, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control unit of District E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury) arrested Kristopher Depina, 30, of Hyde Park, on firearm and drug charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Washington Street and Carol Circle when they observed an individual from a prior interaction waiting on the steps of 4965 Washington Street. Officers maintained surveillance of the individual and observed a motor vehicle arrive in the adjacent parking lot.
Officers observed the individual enter the vehicle for a short amount of time before exiting. Officers believed that a street level drug transaction had transpired inside the vehicle. Officers approached the individual who exited the vehicle and advised him of the reason for the stop. Officers were able to recover two plastic bags of cocaine from the suspect.
Officers now observed the involved vehicle had backed into a parking spot. Officers pulled in front of the vehicle and identified themselves as Boston Police Officers. The suspect drove around a parked vehicle and onto the grass, almost striking an officer. The vehicle fled the scene at a high rate of speed, and crashed into a parked car in the area of 243 Grove Street. Multiple witnesses on scene advised officers that the suspect ran up Grove Street.
Officers observed the suspect on Camp Road and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers observed the suspect discard clothing and began running towards the baseball field. Officers surrounded the area, and the suspect ultimately gave up, and put his hands up in the middle of the field. Officers were safely able to place the suspect into handcuffs. Officers conducted a search of the suspect and recovered two plastic bags of cocaine, and approximately $1,070 in U.S. currency.
Officers began to canvass the flight path of the suspect, and recovered a discarded backpack inside a trash can outside on Overlook Road. Officers searched the backpack and recovered a Glock 27 with one round in the chamber and six rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered a fifty round drum magazine containing forty-three rounds.
Further recovered evidence inside the backpack included a large plastic bag of white powder, a digital scale, ten various size plastic bags of tan powder, two plastic bags of white powder, and drug packing material. The drugs were later weighed and determined to be 111 grams of Fentanyl, and 322 grams of Cocaine.
Depina was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the following charges:
