At about 12:40 PM, on Sunday, April 20, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Kesner Forestdale, 20, Dorchester, on multiple firearm offenses.
Officers were aware of an active firearm investigation involving Forestdale, and that he was in possession of multiple firearms. Officers observed the suspect walking on the sidewalk near the area of Harvard Street and Standish Street. Officers also noticed that the suspect was holding a black duffel bag.
Officers maintained surveillance on the suspect, and were able to stop him in the area of Harvard Street and Bernard Street. Officers attempted to pat frisk the duffel bag, and the suspect tried to flee. Officers were able to stop the suspect, and a violent struggle ensued.
The suspect violently pushed one of the officers in the face, and continued to resist. Officers were able to safely place the suspect into handcuffs, and recovered a black rifle from inside the duffel bag. Officers continued to search the bag, and recovered a second firearm as well as multiple plastic bags of drugs.
The firearms were later determined to be a Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 Rifle with twenty-two rounds in the magazine, and a Springfield Armory XD9 with sixteen rounds in the magazine.
Forestdale was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the following charges:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Carrying a Loaded Rifle on a Public Way
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm
- Two Counts of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B
- Resist Arrest
- Assault and Battery on a Police Officer
