At about 7:00 PM, on Friday, March 7, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Cedric Waller, 40, of Boston, on firearm offenses.
Officers were conducting a drug investigation in the area of 247 Woodrow Avenue. Officers observed heavy and consistent foot traffic entering and exiting the area. Officers also observed the front door of the building to be damaged, allowing anyone to have access to the building.
Officers maintained surveillance of the area, and observed a male individual enter the building, exiting within four minutes. Officers followed the individual, and conducted a threshold inquiry. Due to the ongoing investigation, officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect, and immediately felt the presence of a firearm.
Officers quickly recovered the firearm from the suspect’s waistband and placed him into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Jimenez Arms Inc. with eleven rounds in the magazine. Officers also determined that the firearm’s serial number was defaced.
Waller was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
