Firearm Recovered After a Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 9:45 PM, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Colbert Eden, 37, of Roxbury, for firearm charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers continued to observe the vehicle to be weaving through traffic, and abruptly cutting off other vehicles.

Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and American Legion Highway. As officers approached the vehicle, they observed the operator place a black mask over his head. Officers also observed the vehicle’s windows to have an extremely dark tint, and requested the operator to roll the windows down. The operator rolled the windows down slightly and handed the officer his license and registration.

After further investigation, officers requested that the operator exit the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the operator and recovered two knives from his pockets. Officers continued to pat frisk the vehicle, and recovered a firearm from inside. The firearm was later determined to be an Arminius HW7 with eight rounds in the cylinder.

Eden was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
