At about 12:15 PM, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury) arrested Jaline Phillips-Young, 31, of Roslindale, on firearm and drug related charges.
Officers were monitoring the area of Roslindale Square for potential drug activity. Officers observed a suspect in the area of Florence Street,who had an active warrant for Armed Assault with Intent to Murder and was seen on a wanted BRIC flyer. Officers maintained surveillance of the suspect and observed him board a bus towards 3700 Washington Street.
Officers observed the suspect exit the bus and walk towards the train station. Officers were able to stop the suspect, and advised him that he had a warrant for his arrest. Officers conducted a search incident to arrest and recover the firearm from his waistband. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 19 with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in a magazine capable of holding thirty-one rounds. The firearm also had an obliterated serial number.
As officers continued to search the suspect, they also recovered four plastic bags containing fourteen individual plastic bags of crack cocaine. Officers further recovered $699 in U.S. Currency. The drugs were later determined to weigh approximately 54.7 grams.
Phillips-Young was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Defacement of a Firearm Serial Number, Firearm Possession in Commission of a Felony, Firearm Violation with 3 Prior Violent Crimes, and Trafficking of Cocaine over 36 grams. He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
