At about 8:17 PM, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, arrested Kenrick Dixon, 25, of Boston, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Tremont Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers immediately activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle refused to stop, and attempted to flee the area.
Officers were able to safely stop the vehicle in the area of Worcester Street. As officers exited their vehicle, they observed the operator reached down to the floorboard of the passenger seat. After further investigation, officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle.
Officers conducted a pat frisk of the vehicle and recovered a firearm. The firearm was later determined to be a Ghost gun with four rounds in the magazine.
Dixon was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
