Drug Control Units Arrest Two Suspects for Drug Trafficking

At about 3:44 PM, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain), E-18 (Hyde Park), and B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Walky LaChapel, 23, of Hyde Park, Jose Abreu, 30, of Roxbury, on drug trafficking charges.

Officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area 29 West Milton Street. Officers observed the target of their investigation leave an apartment with a second male individual. Both parties entered separated vehicles and left the area.

Officers attempted to conduct traffic stops of both vehicles. LaChapel was stopped and immediately placed into handcuffs. Abreu refused to stop and fled the area before crashing into the sidewalk. Abreau immediately exited the vehicle, and a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to apprehend Abreau in the area of 22 Maila Street. Abreu’s vehicle was towed from the scene and secured pending a search warrant.

Abreau was placed under arrest and charged with Five Counts of Trafficking of Class A, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Operating Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating Motor Vehicle without a License, Attaching Plates, and Two Counts of Trespassing. The suspect also had two active warrants for Trafficking of Class A, Possession of Class A, and Distribution of Class B.  

LaChapel was placed under arrest for multiple warrants charging him with Five Counts of Trafficking Class A. Both suspects were arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, officers executing of search warrants in the area 29 West Milton Street. As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered approximately 220 grams of Fentanyl, 28 grams of Cocaine, multiple scales, baggies, cutting agents and packaging materials.

LaChapel and Abreu were additionally charged with Trafficking of Class A and Trafficking of Class B.
