Investigation Update: Second Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting in Dorchester

Investigation Update: At about 9:52 AM, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit arrested a 17-year-old Juvenile Male, for the murder of Leudis Mejia Sanchez, 49, of Dorchester. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant out of Dorchester District Court for the charges of Murder, Assault to Murder, Home Invasion, and Carrying a Firearm without a license. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 6:42 PM, on Monday, August 12th, 2024, Officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a report of two people shot inside of 5 Trent St, Dorchester. Upon arrival, they located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were treated on-scene and transported to a local hospital, where one victim was pronounced deceased and the other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The deceased male victim was identified as Leudis Mejia Sanchez, 49, of Dorchester.
