At about 10:45 PM, on Sunday, August 11, 2024, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Eskalin Villalona, 32, of Jamaica Plain, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Columbia Road and Quincy Street when they observed a motor vehicle make an illegal U-turn from the middle lane. The vehicle pulled to the side of the road in the area of 242 Magnolia Street and Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers observed the operator open the driver side door in an attempt to exit the vehicle. Officers requested the operator to re-enter his vehicle to address the traffic violation. Officers could observe the operator to be extremely nervous and his hands were trembling.
After further investigation, officers requested that the operator exit the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the vehicle and recovered a firearm under the driver’s seat. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 43 with seven rounds in the magazine which was capable of holding ten rounds.
Villalona was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
