At about 10:07 PM, on Monday, June 24, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Windell Davis, 44, of Randolph, on firearm charges.
Boston Police Operations advised officers of a call for a fight in the area of W Canton Street and Tremont Street. Shortly after another call came in for 627 Tremont Street for a victim that was jumped by a person with a firearm. A third call was for a person bleeding from the chest on W Newton Street.
Operations provided officers with a description of the suspect. Due to the proximity of the calls, officers believed the suspect was for the EMS call for a person bleeding. Upon arrival, officers observed a person matching the description of the suspect.
Officers immediately placed him into handcuffs and conducted a pat frisk. Officers recovered a firearm from his right pants pocket. The firearm was later determined to be a Smith and Wesson MP Bodyguard with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine. The suspect was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and booked after release.
Davis was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault, and Firearm Violation with one Prior Violent/Drug Crime. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
