At about 10:40 PM, on Friday, May 10, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Christopher Maurilus, 19, of Roxbury, on firearm charges.
Officers responded to the area of 26 Crispus Attucks Place for a radio call for a request for EMS and BPD response. Officers were advised by Boston Police Operations that a male individual was acting erratic and just broke a door.
Officers were aware of a shot spotter activation for ten rounds in the area of 61 Alpine Street. Officers located ten shell casings in the area of Fenwick Place which is the rear address to 26 Crispus Attucks Place. Officers were also provided a description of a possible shooter from the shots fired incident.
Upon arrival, officers were attempting to speak with a male individual, who was not responsive to officers’ questions and continued to break things. Officers observed the male to match the description from the shots fired incident. Officers were able to place the individual into handcuffs, and conducted a query of the individual’s information. Officers determined that the suspect had two active warrants for his arrest for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and use of fraudulent checks.
The suspect then fell to the ground, and attempted to roll around and kick at officers,. The suspect’s actions prevented officers from searching him. With the assistance of responding officers, officers searched the suspect and recovered a firearm from his shorts. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 22 with an empty extended 22 round capacity magazine.
Boston EMS was requested to respond to the scene to evaluate the suspect who refused medical treatment.
Maurilus was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
