At about 6:42 PM, on Sunday, May 5, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Brevin Dossantos, 26, of Mattapan, on firearm and drug trafficking charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Warren Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers activated their marked cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of Warren Street and Waverly Street.
Officers made contact with the occupants, and the operator advised officers that his driver’s license was expired. Officers conducted a query of the operator’s driver’s license which revealed that it was suspended.
At this time, officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle. As officers attempted to conduct a pat frisk of the suspect, he began to actively resist. Officers advised the suspect multiple times to stop resisting and a violent struggle ensued. During the struggle, officers felt what they believed was a firearm inside the suspect pants.
With the assistance of responding officers, the suspect was able to be placed into handcuffs. As officers searched the suspect, they recovered multiple plastic bags containing what they believed to be crack cocaine and fentanyl. Officers also recovered approximately $1,240 in US currency.
The firearm was later determined to be a Springfield Armory XD-9 with sixteen rounds in the magazine. The crack cocaine was weighed to be approximately 21 grams, and the fentanyl weighed about 16 grams.
Dossantos was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, trafficking of class A, trafficking of class B, resisting arrest, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
