At about 10:15 PM, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Steve Stephen, 33, of Dorchester, on firearm charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Talbot Avenue and Washington Street when they observed a motor vehicle operating with revoked insurance. Officers followed the vehicle, and observed the vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign.
At this time, officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers made contact with the operator, and advised him that the vehicle would need to be towed. During a motor vehicle inventory search, officers located a loaded firearm, and immediately placed the suspect into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Bryco Arms Jennings 9mm with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.
Earl was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
