At about 6:00 PM, on Monday, March 11, 2024, officers assigned to the drug control unit of District E-18 (Hyde Park), arrested Ted Bernier, 38, of Revere, on firearm and drug charges.
Officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation in the area of 885 Cummins Highway when they observed a motor vehicle enter the parking lot, and pick up a male individual. Officers observed the male enter the rear of the motor vehicle, and exit the vehicle within two minutes. Officers believed that a street level drug transaction had occurred.
Officers followed the motor vehicle, and observed it stop in front of 577 River Street. Officers observed the motor vehicle make an illegal U-turn at that location and activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers made contact with the occupants and advised them of the stop. Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle, and observed an item consistent with a large plastic bag inside the operator’s pants. Officers recovered the plastic bag containing what they believed to be cocaine, which was later determined to weigh 272 grams. As officers continued their investigation, they recovered a firearm from inside the motor vehicle. The firearm was later determined to be a STK 100 (Ghost Gun) with four rounds in the magazine.
Bernier was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and trafficking of class B. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
