C-11 Officers Arrest Suspects on Firearm Charges After Disturbance Call

At approximately 5:32 AM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, officers assigned to District C-11 apprehended Shawquan Jackson, 34, of Roxbury, and Keemony McKinney, 22, of Jamaica Plain, on firearm-related charges following a disturbance reported in the vicinity of 43 Alpha Rd, Dorchester.

Responding to a call about unknown individuals ringing residents’ doorbells, officers found Jackson and McKinney claiming residency in the area. However, subsequent investigation revealed otherwise. Suspicion arose when officers noticed the suspects behaving oddly close together after hearing a thud. Upon closer observation, Mckinney was seen leaning over near the front door, where a black doormat was placed on the porch floor. Officers, sensing something amiss, approached and noticed a suspicious bulge under the doormat, which Jackson was attempting to conceal. Acting swiftly, officers detained the suspects and discovered a silver firearm concealed beneath the mat.

Both suspects were promptly arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm. Jackson faced an additional charge of unlawful possession of a firearm subsequent offense, marking his fourth offense. Both are scheduled to appear for arraignment at Dorchester District Court.
