District C-6 and B-2 Drug Control Units Make Dual Drug Trafficking Arrests Following Mass and Cass Operation

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the C-6 (South Boston) and B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Units apprehended Jekis Aguavivas Mendes, 39, of Dorchester, and Waily Reyes, 26, of Jamaica Plain, on charges related to drug trafficking.

While conducting directed patrol in the Mass and Cass area, officers observed the suspects engaging in a street-level drug transaction. Upon further investigation, the officers initiated a traffic stop on Mendes. During the stop, they confiscated 19 plastic bags of Fentanyl, totaling 24 grams, 12 plastic bags of crack-cocaine, totaling 8 grams, and $2180 in US Currency. Additionally, a separate traffic stop on Reyes resulted in the recovery of 10 plastic bags of Fentanyl, totaling 13 grams, 7 plastic bags of crack-cocaine, totaling 5 grams, and $139 in US Currency.

Both suspects were taken into custody. Mendes is expected to face charges of Trafficking in Class A, Distribution of Class A and Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute B. Reyes will be charged with Trafficking Class A and Possession with Intent to Distribute B. Both are anticipated to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
