At about 1:15 AM, on January 13, 2024, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Tevin Ramsey, 28, of South Boston
Officers were on patrol in the area of Franklin Field when they observed the suspects vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and failing to stop for a red light at Blue Hill Ave and Westview St. The officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Greenwood St and Harvard St and came in contact with the suspect who was seated in the passenger’s side of the vehicle. While speaking to all parties in the vehicle an officer noticed the handle of a firearm protruding from the suspects jacket pocket. The officers gave an exit order to all passengers and recovered a loaded firearm from the suspect. The firearm was later determined to be a Polymer 80 9mm pistol, loaded with 6 rounds of ammunition in the magazine and 1 round in the chamber.
Ramsey was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a loaded firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. The other passengers of the vehicle were released and the driver was cited for the motor vehicle infractions.
