At approximately 11:50 pm officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested Michael Donovan, 37, of South Boston and Brendan Delaney, 50, of South Boston for a Burglary that occured at 363 E St, South Boston.
Officers responded to a 911 call for a breaking and entering at the church when the two suspects were observed by a witness entering the building from the side carrying 2 bags. Officers arrived on scene and secured the perimeter of the building, as officers were preparing to make entry the suspects exited the building from the side door and were immediately detained. Upon further investigation it was revealed that both suspects had broken into the church to steal copper wire. The officers located the suspects bags they had entered the church with and it contained hand tools and numerous pieces of copper wire obtained from the building.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with: Possession of Burglarious Instruments & Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned at South Boston District Court.
