At about 2:57 PM, on Monday, December 18, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Shawn Walker, 22, of Dedham on firearm related charges.
Officers were conducting an ongoing investigation and execution of an arrest warrant in the area of 50 Clifford Street. Officers located the suspect inside the apartment, and placed him under arrest. The apartment was frozen pending a search warrant.
As a result of the search warrant officers recovered Smith & Wesson M&P with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine. A second firearm was recovered and later determined to be a Glock firearm with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered 3 loose rounds of ammunition, and 4 plastic baggies containing what they believed to be crack cocaine.
Walker was placed under arrest for his warrants that were sought out of Roxbury District Court for Assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit gun, and a warrant from Dedham District Court for unlawful possession of a firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
