At about 9:52 AM, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested William Bailey, 22, of West Roxbury, on firearm related charges.
Officers responded to the area of 30 Fremont Street for a radio call of a person with a gun. Boston Police Operations advised officers of a description of the suspect, possible location, and that he pointed a firearm at a victim. Officers knocked and announced themselves at the suspected apartment, and the suspect answered the door. Officers immediately placed the suspect into handcuffs, and the apartment was frozen pending a search warrant.
Later that day, Detectives executed a search warrant and recovered a firearm from inside the apartment. The firearm was later determined to be a .380 handgun with four rounds in the chamber
Bailey was placed under arrest and charged with: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. After further investigation, detectives will seek additional arrest warrants for the firearm charges.
