BPD in the Community: Care Packages For Young Heroes in Charlestown

BPD in the Community: Officers assigned to the Community Service Office of District A-1/A-15 (Downtown/Charlestown) assisted in organizing a care package drive for two local heroes who are currently enlisted on active duty in our Nation’s Armed Forces. Jake Scanlan, stationed aboard the USS Ford, and Warren Fitzpatrick, part of the Airborne Brigade, both are currently serving in the Middle East. Jake and Warren along with our entire military continue to receive steadfast support from their community as they proudly serve our great country.

Charlestown has always been known for its unwavering support for its own, and this was no exception. In a heartwarming display of gratitude, residents came together to write letters expressing their appreciation for their service, along with heartfelt wishes for a Happy Veterans Day. Care packages were filled with daily essentials, and items that would remind them of home.

Local schools joined in this meaningful gesture by contributing supportive letters for those on active duty, further highlighting the unity and solidarity within this remarkable community. Their collective efforts in a fundraising drive also resulted in an impressive array of donated goods.

The Boston Police Department and the residents of Charlestown are always thinking of Jake and Warren and wish them a safe return home soon!
