At about 2:47 AM, on October 9, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Edwin Santos, 18, of Roxbury, and Juan Medina, 20, of Roxbury, on firearm related charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Seaver Street and Park View Street when they observed a motor vehicle with an inoperable tail light. Officers activated their marked cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers made contact with the occupants, and after further investigation requested that they exit the vehicle. As officers frisked the motor vehicle, they recovered a firearm which was later determined to be an American Tactical M1911 with four rounds in the magazine.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. They are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
