At about 9:42 PM, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police and Transit Police, arrested David Williams-Depina, 30, of Boston, on firearm related charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of 176 Seaver Street when they observed a motor vehicle weaving in and out of marked lanes multiple times with no regard to other vehicles. As officers positioned their cruiser behind the suspect’s motor vehicle, they observed the passenger throw trash out of the window.
At this time, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. As officers made contact with the occupants, they were immediately advised by the operator that his license was suspended. Officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle, and placed him into handcuffs.
After further investigation, officers recovered a firearm from inside the vehicle. The firearm was later determined to be a SCCY CPX-2 with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.
The passenger was promptly released from the scene.
Williams-Depina was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
