Multiple Firearms Recovered After a Search Warrant in Dorchester

At about 10:22 AM, on Friday, September 22, 2023, officers assigned to the Drug Control Units of District C-11 (Dorchester) and B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Reginald Mells, 44, of Dorchester, and will seek complaints for 25 year old male from Dorchester, on firearm and drug charges.

Officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 6 Darlington Street. As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered 15 plastic bags of what they believed to be crack cocaine. Officers also recovered a Colt Revolver with six rounds in the magazine, a Remington .223 Rifle with two 30 round magazines, 8mm Semi-Automatic firearm, 24 live .45 loose rounds of ammunition, 12 .40 rounds of loose ammunition, multiple empty magazines, a ballistic vest, and a fully automatic Glock with an extended magazine.

Mells was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with intent to distribute class B. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

The 25-year-old male is charged with: Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun, Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Three Counts of Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of Body Armor, and Possession of a Rifle without a Serial Number.
