At about 1:04 AM, on Sunday, September 3, 2023, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Juan Arias, 30 of Dorchester, on firearm related charges.
Officers responded to the area of 15 Bowdoin Avenue for a report of a shot spotter activation. Officers observed an individual running from the area, and stopped to speak with him. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect and recovered a firearm from inside his sweatshirt pocket. Officers also recovered what they believed to be mushrooms.
Arias was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Class C. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
