Officers Recover Two Loaded Firearms in Mattapan After Two People Shot In NightClub

At about 12:46 AM, on Monday, September 4, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Regan Feliz, 29, of Jamaica Plain on firearm related charges.

An officer was in the area of 477 River Street addressing numerous community complaints for illegally parked cars. While on scene, the officer observed multiple people fleeing from Macumbas, and was advised that a person was shot. The officer was approached by a witness who stated that he observed a suspect fleeing the area with a firearm.

Officers approached a group who immediately attempted to flee from the scene. A foot pursuit ensued, and one of the suspects dropped a firearm. Officers recovered the firearm, and were able to handcuff one of the suspects. Officers searched the suspect and recovered a firearm from his waistband.

As responding officers arrived on scene, officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second shooting victim self-applied to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The firearms were later determined to be a Polymer 80 with 26 rounds in the magazine, and a Polymer 80 with nine rounds in the magazine.

Feliz was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
