At about 8:10 PM, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site firearm arrest of Aakeim Skinner, 30, of Boston.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Harvard Street when they observed a motor vehicle with excessive window tint. Officers conducted a CJIS inquiry of the motor vehicle which revealed that the vehicle was stolen.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers were able to stop the motor vehicle at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Millet Street. Officers made contact with the operator and requested him to exit the motor vehicle. As officers pat frisked the motor vehicle, they recovered a loaded firearm from inside, later determined to be a Glock 17.
Skinner was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
