Officers Arrest Suspect with 184 grams of Drugs in Roxbury

At about 2:00 PM, on Friday, July 14, officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Hector Lopez, 51, of Boston, on drug trafficking charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. Officers observed what they believed was a drug transaction, and attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect attempted to flee and a struggle ensued. Officers were safely able to place the suspect under arrest.

As officers searched the suspect, they recovered approximately 120 grams of Fentanyl, 50 grams of Crack Cocaine, and 14 grams of powder Cocaine. All of the drugs appeared to be packaged for resale.

Lopez was placed under arrest and charged with; Trafficking of Class A over 100 grams, Trafficking of Class B over 36 grams, Possession with intent to Distribute Class B, and Resisting Arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
