At about 10:12 PM, on Tuesday, July 12, 2023, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District D-4 (South End), arrested Nelson Vazquez, 39, of Brockton on drug related charges.
Officers responded to the area of 285 Columbus Avenue for a report of a person trying to sell an electric bicycle, which was believed to be stolen. As officers approached the suspect, they observed him drop what they believed to be a crack pipe. Officers conducted a CJIS inquiry of the suspect, which revealed he had an active warrant for his arrest.
As officers searched the suspect, they located a container with three pieces of a rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine. Officers continued their search and located multiple plastic baggies containing what they believed to be methamphetamine and heroin. A total weight of all the drugs was about 39 grams.
Vazquez was placed under arrest and charged with; Trafficking of Class A, Distribution of Class B, and Distribution of Class E. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
