Officers Recovered a Firearm in Downtown Boston

At about 3:45PM, on Friday, June 30, 2023, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown), made an on-site firearm arrest of James Cirafice, 20, of Hanover and Ian Woodward, 23, of Marshfield.

Officers responded to the area of 283 Washington Street for a report of a larceny in progress. Officers were provided a description of the suspect, and began to canvass the area. Officers were able to locate the suspect who was now accompanied by a second suspect. Both suspects were seen eating items from the restaurant that reported the larceny.

Officers observed a backpack next to the suspects, and conducted a pat frisk of the backpack. Officers immediately recovered a firearm and placed both suspects into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Polymer 80 P80 Glock 17 style “Ghost Gun”.

Cirafice was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Larceny from a Building and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.  

Woodward was found to have three active warrants for his arrest and is also expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
