Officers Arrest Suspect with Two Loaded Firearms in Roxbury

At about 11:38 PM, on Friday, June 20, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Levonte Johnson, 20, of Lancaster for firearm related charges.

Officers responded to the area of 88 Moreland Street for a disturbance between three adult males with violent threats. As officers arrived on scene, they observed one male to have blood on his shirt. Officers conducted a pat frisk of two of the suspects without incident.

As officers attempted to pat frisk the third suspect, they located a firearm in his pants pocket. Officers attempted to place suspect under arrest, and a struggle ensued. Officers were able to safely place the suspect into handcuffs without further incident. Officers were able to search the suspect and located a second firearm from his waistband.

The firearms were later determined to be two, Taurus GX4 firearms both having one round in the chamber and twelve rounds in the magazine.

Johnson was placed under arrest and charged with; Two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Two counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
