BPD in the Community:Commissioner Cox and members of the BPD Command Staff helped AccesSportAmerica celebrate its annual Mayor’s Cup Regatta at Malibu Beach with founder Ross Lilley. More than 20 teams competed in Outrigger Canoe Races and brought a bit of Hawaii to Dorchester. Teams showed their spirit with costumes and unique uniforms while raising money for non-profit AccesSportAmerica, which helps children and adults with physical and cognitive challenges to achieve their best potential as far as mobility and athletics. AccesSport works with children at Camp Harbor View and with high school students in the Boston Public Schools.
