At about 1:00 AM, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester), arrested Joe Simmons, 35, of Boston and Felicia Lima, 35, of Roxbury on firearm charges as a result of a traffic conducted in the area of 63 Monadnock Street in Dorchester.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Columbia Road and Blue Hill Avenue when they observed a motor vehicle with excessively dark tinted windows, fail to stop for a red light and fail to use its turn signal. Officers activated their lights and sirens and safely stopped the motor vehicle.
Officers made contact with the uncooperative driver and the occupants of the vehicle, and after further investigation both parties were arrested when officers recovered a loaded firearm from the vehicle.
The firearm was determined to be a Kel-Tec P-11 with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.
Joe Simmons and Felicia Lima were arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The are both expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
