At about 1:28am, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, officers from Area D-4 (South End) were flagged down by a motorist who stated that he had just been robbed by three individuals who approached him while he was sitting in his parked car in the area of 42 Harrison Archways. According to the victim, one of the suspects displayed a knife and demanded the victim\’s phone and necklace. After taking the victim’s phone, necklace and Cincinnati Reds baseball hat, the suspects fled the area. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. Approximately twenty minutes later, officers observed a group of six individuals hanging around in the area of 42 Harrison Archways. However, when the group saw the officers approaching, all but one fled the area on foot. Officers noted that the one individual who chose not to run was wearing a Cincinnati Reds baseball hat. While officers were talking to that individual, witnesses were brought to the scene. Upon seeing the suspect, witnesses stated, “That’s one of them.”
Officers arrested Joey Sierra, 22, of Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery.
A second individual was apprehended and returned to the scene where he was also positively identified by witnesses. Officers arrested Edgar Matos, 22, of Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery.
