Around 2:30PM yesterday, Monday, June 13, 2011, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) arrested suspect, Deron Smith, 18 of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Shoplifting. Suspect, Tarikah Warner, 17 of Dorchester was also arrested and charged with Shoplifting.
Officers initially responded to 450 Washington St. in Downtown Boston/Macy’s for two shoplifters in custody. On arrival, officers spoke to loss prevention staff who reported that they observed the two listed suspects at the jewelry section removing items from the paper backing and putting them in their pockets. The two were stopped prior to leaving the store and detained while Boston Police was called. The two suspects were frisked and a loaded firearm recovered from suspect Smith along the shoplifted items. Suspect Warner was also found to be in possession of some shoplifted items.
