B&E Suspect “Bagged”

About 8:04PM last night, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for vandalism in progress at 62 Northampton Street.  En route, officers were advised that the suspect, a 20-year old white male about 5’8” wearing a black shirt had broken into a car and was last seen in the area of East Lennox St. and Harrison Avenue.
As officers approached the location, they were approached by a witness who pointed out the suspect who was in possession of a woman’s handbag. The witness then told officers that the suspect had broken into her mother’s car and stolen her mother’s handbag.

The suspect, Paul Wyman, 23 of Hanson was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny Non-Accessory from a Motor Vehicle $200.00 and Over.

Officers returned to the scene and there were shown victim’s the car with the broken passenger side window that the suspect had been broken into. Officers were then told that the suspect had walked into the Pizza Stop store and placed an order and shortly thereafter walked out of the store when it became obvious that he would not be able to pay for his order. The victim and suspect then reported that shortly after the suspect walked out of the store, a neighbor ran into the store and alerted them that someone had just broken into their car. The witness then ran outside and observed the suspect reaching into the car and stealing the purse. The witness, at this time, followed the suspect until he was stopped and placed under arrest by officers.
