Some of you may be interested in the arraignment results of five teens charged in the vicious group beating of two unarmed victims, ages 33 and 34, near the intersection of East Broadway and I Street early on Mother\’s Day. Suffolk prosecutors assigned to South Boston District Court yesterday recommended that all five be held on $10,000 cash bail; Judge Michael Bolden imposed the following for each defendant:
SEAN KELLEY, 18, of Charlestown, charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and drinking in public, $1,000 cash bail; atty Arnold Cohen
DANIEL LYNCH, 18, of South Boston, charged with charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and drinking in public, $1,000 cash bail; atty Daniel Dilorati
DERECK McCANN, 17, of Dorchester, charged with assault and battery and drinking in public, $3,000 cash bail and bail revoked on an unrelated Juvenile Court case; atty Jack Garland
KEVIN McCARTHY, 18, of South Boston, charged with assault and battery and drinking in public, $1,000 cash bail; atty Jane Moynihan
KEVIN RULL, 18, of South Boston, charged with assault and battery and drinking in public, $1,000 cash bail; atty Daniel Dilorati
Should the defendants post bail, each was additionally ordered to wear a GPS tracking device, stay away from the victims, and abide by an 8:00 pm curfew during the pendency of the case. All five defendants were ordered to return to court on June 8. Please note that booking photos will not be released due to the eyewitness nature of the identifications.
